Since 1901, the NCGA has been serving the golfers of Northern California in an effort to provide an enjoyable and fulfilling golf experience.

The Women's Golf Association of Northern California promotes and serves the interest of women's amateur golf in Northern California.

The USGA is an organization of 9,500 clubs, courses and qualified practice facilities serving all golfers as the national governing body for the game.

GHIN is the world's largest handicap computation service. GHIN is provided through 62 State, Regional or National Golf Associations to over 10,000 clubs and approximately 1.9 million golfers.

The California Women's State Championship began in January of 1994 at the USGA Annual Meeting. The State Championship would provide a "true women's Champion" from the state of California.
